See water waste? Let us know. When restrictions are implemented LOID enforces the restriction schedule.
Penalties are:
1st Violation - warning
2nd Violation- irrigation water is turned off for 2 weeks
3rd Violation- irrigation water is turned off for the remaining irrigation season
When restrictions are not in effect LOID attempts to communicate to patrons the importance of conserving water. The penalties are not enforced when restrictions are not in place. However, if you see water waste within the District, call the office at (208) 746-8235.
Watering two days a week should be sufficient during most of the summer. If needed, water a third day during extreme heat or dry periods. Water trees and shrubs as needed, but not in the heat of the day. Shrubs and perennials need half as much water as lawns.
*Remember to adjust watering times at least once per month.
